Noor Theatre is a non-profit, Obie-winning, New York City based company with a mission to support, develop and produce the work of theater artists of Middle Eastern, Southwest Asian and North African descent. Noor offers opportunities and supports the development of new work through commissions, readings, workshops and productions.
The Noor Team:
Ariana Sarfarazi, Executive Director: The Executive Director leads Noor’s overall operations, including institutional planning, programming, bookkeeping, and financial oversight. This role manages long-term projects and provides operational support to the rest of the team.
Sivan Battat, Director of New Work Development: The Director of New Work Development works with the staff to create forward thinking programming, specifically in regards to commissions and artistic development, while supporting and expanding Noor’s artistic community. This role ideates and creates programming that seeks to best support our artistic community.
Kate Moore Heaney, Artistic Producer: The Artistic Producer works alongside the Director of New Work Development to manage artist relations and programming. This role executes budgets and line producing for readings, workshops and events, and also provides organizational support by helping with artistic strategy and grant writing.
Director of communications and community
Noor Theatre is looking for a Director of Communications and Community to become an essential member of the team. Noor is a small company seeking someone with prior communications, marketing, and/or press experience to manage the organization’s media relations. This role will create and implement Noor’s overall communications strategy, including social media management, content creation, audience building and engagement, and institutional marketing.
This position will also aid Noor’s larger mission of community building, ideally realizing our goal for greater engagement with MENA/SWANA communities in NYC as well as global exchange outside of New York and the United States.
This is a part-time role that is fully remote outside of programming with a flexible work schedule. When there are active programs, this role will be expected to share on the ground logistics alongside the rest of the staff in NYC.

Director of Development
Noor Theatre is looking for a Director of Development to become an essential member of the team. Noor is a small company seeking someone with experience in institutional and donor development and non-profit fundraising to help build the organization’s financial capacity and long-term growth. Reporting to the Executive Director, we are looking for someone who will identify and cultivate new funding sources, manage institutional funding relationships, oversee and administer the organization’s grant applications, identify and cultivate individual donors, and support the Executive Director to engage new Board members and manage existing Board engagement.
